Defined by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), this grade of coffee that represents the highest standard of quality in coffee. This premium category emphasizes meticulous cultivation, precise roasting, and a focus on distinctive flavours.
To qualify as a specialty coffee, a rigorous cupping process is undertaken to assess the coffee against the primary attributes outlined below and then given a score on a 100 point scale. Coffee which achieves a score of 80+ is classified as specialty-grade and guarantees exceptional quality.
